Boat Storage — Common Questions

What size unit do I need for my boat?
Most fishing boats, pontoons, and personal watercraft with a trailer fit in a 10×20 unit (20 feet deep × 10 feet wide). If your boat is longer than 18 feet on the trailer, or you have a larger pontoon or cruiser, our 10×30 gives you extra length and room for accessories. When in doubt, measure your boat on the trailer — total length is the key number.
Is indoor drive-up storage better than outdoor storage for a boat?
Yes, for the Tri-Cities climate. Richland summers exceed 100°F and UV exposure causes significant fading and cracking to upholstery, gel coat, and covers. Indoor storage eliminates direct sun, rain, and dust exposure, and protects your boat from weather-related deterioration year-round.
Can I access my boat whenever I want?
Gate access is available daily from 6 AM to 10 PM — perfect for early morning launch days. Simply enter your personal gate code, pull your boat out, and head to the Columbia or Snake River. No appointment needed.
Do I need to drain my boat before storing it?
Yes — always drain the bilge and any water from ballast tanks, live wells, or coolers before storage. This prevents mold, mildew, and freeze damage. We recommend disconnecting the battery and fogging the engine if storing for the winter. Our on-site manager Tyler is happy to answer prep questions.
Can I work on my boat inside the unit?
Light maintenance and cleaning is fine. However, open flame, welding, and flammable material storage are not permitted per our lease terms. For major repairs, please work with a licensed boat service provider before moving the boat into storage.
How do I reserve a boat storage unit?
Reserve online anytime at our units page, or call (509) 827-1927 during office hours. We'll confirm the unit fits your boat's dimensions and walk you through the move-in process.
